Greatly depends on how it is done.

If the hunter is primitive or an extreme danger junkie, 1-3 can do it with spears.

If you really want to go primitive and protect your own hide a bit, you could dig a pit, and one man could accomplish this in a day or so. If you manage to snare a lion, you could dispatch it in a number of different ways.

One man in a tree stand could do it at less than 100 yards with a good compound bow (seen Ted Nuggent bring down a full sized bear with one shot, dropping it where it stood, so it could be done with a lion).

In all humility, I could do it at 400 yards with a Ruger 7mm magnum or larger caliber with at least a 3x9 scope, but I would still prefer to do it from the top of at least a Land Rover (not because of the lion I drop, but because of the pride hunting me while I did it).

Do lion's eat their own cubs?

Yes and no. When knew male lions take over they kill all of the old males cubs.

Does a mother lion eat its baby lion if it gets hurt?

No. Lions don't eat their cubs. However, male lions are known to kill the cubs fathered by the ousted male when they take over a pride. They do this to bring the females to heat so that they can produce their own genetic line. Apart from this, lions are not known to kill their own.

Does a lioness need a lion to have cubs?

Yes, it take both a male and a female lion to produce cubs.

Do lions fight for there pride and do they keep there cubs and lionesses safe and if the lion dies do the lionesses fight?

== == A male lion will fight for the territory and as a result the pride is protected from other male lions. Lionesses will protect the pride from any other danger. If a wandering male lion stumbles on the pride without facing the territorial male, then the lionesses will most certainly try to chase it away in fear that this visitor will kill the cubs. This 'nomad' has not earned the right to be on this territory. The noise of this encounter will bring the territorial male back to the pride in a rush and a fight will break out. If the 'nomad' lion wins the fight then he will find any other competition (other male lions in the pride) and chase them away, and will also kill the cubs. Lionesses can not hold off a fully grown male lion. In this situation, the new male will take over the pride and will protect the territory and the pride from then on. He will kill all the cubs fathered by the previous male so that he can father his generation. However, if the territorial lion dies outside of a territorial fight, there is no clarity of how the lionesses will react to a new lion. If there are no cubs to protect, then the lionesses will probably complain vocally but accept the lion without a fight.

The male lion does not have a special name. Male lions have a large territory they have to defend and several females and lion cubs they take care of.

Can a lion be a male and a female lion too?

No. A lion is a male. A lioness is a female lion. Lion is also a name for the whole species. Yes. They're called hermaphrodites, it means they have sex characteristics of both sexes. However, the gender can only be male or female, and can be shown by which behaviors they take on in the pride.

How many black bears can kill a lion?

Most likely only one adult boar black bear. One single male black bear can be quite heavier and larger than a single male lion, and could possibly kill a male lion, but will get seriously injured. A large male sun bear and an asiatic lion fighting would end up the large male sun bear as a winner to the asiatic lion. If the large male sun bear has no problem taking on a single bengal tiger, then it really would not have any difficulties in taking down a male lion, no matter what species. However, a lion or a tiger can also take down a black bear as well because of their great hunting skills. Black bears, especially the females with cubs nor the males guarding the territories, are highly aggressive creatures and can kill animals that come to their territories. The large male black bears can even take down a small adult brown bear in its territory, depending on the strengths of the large male black bears. So, a black bear is actually capable of killing a lion or a tiger in most cases.
