The Boy Scouts of America has a subsidiary called Learning for Life (LfL) that includes Exploring. LfL is an academic and character development program. Exploring was moved to LfL in 1998 and is a career exploration program. Explorers are not Scouts and do not earn merit badges.

In Boy-scouts there are many merit badges the kids can receive. One of the merit badges is for canoeing. You take a skills based test, so there are technically not yes or no answers, you can pass the test by learning how to canoe and doing it the proper way.
To become and eagle scout, you have to advance from tenderfoot, to second class, to first class, to star, to life, then finally to eagle; however, there is only seven requirments for the individual eagle rank. you need a total of twenty one merit badges to become eagle.
