On my 2002 Nissan Xterra I had to remove 4 screws from the front bumper and wheel well and then I was able to get to the back side of the side marker light and remove the nut in order to get to the light bulb.

The entire light assembly must be replaced. The reflector is broken. i cannot get wires to release.
