Between 200 and 2000 depending on tank size. Usually 800 to 1000.
What backup gas tank , it doesn't have one
Depends on the mileage of the car you are driving, speed, terrain, and how large the tank is.
it depends on the car
Between four and nine, dependent on a number of factors.
They can't. They use diesel, not gasoline.
With a 50/50 mixture of city and highway driving and the Cobalt's 13 gallon gas tank, it should drive about 325 miles on one tank. If you are doing ALL highway, a full tank will get you about 375 miles.
That depends on the car. Different cars get different amounts of miles per gallon.

Take your fuel mileage and multiply by the fuel tank capacity.
29 miles per gallon on a 25 gallon tank is 25*29 = 725 miles per tank. So one [partial] fill will be enough.
depends on how many miles to the gallon the car does, and how big the fuel tank is. but most cars probably could do 190 miles on one tank, yes.
I just filled my Prius today (T-spirit, next Prius 09) and it says the full tank will do 453 miles. Just one data point.
