Most average car tires are rated for a tread life of roughly 40,000 to 50,000 miles although there are versions available that have tread life's estimated as high as 70,000 miles. The mileage of your tires will depend on the manufacturer as well as if proper tire care maintenance is performed. Without regularly having your tires at the correct air pressure, rotated every 6,000-7,000 miles and balanced as necessary the useable tread life will be greatly reduced. With proper care however, it is possible for tires to remain useable for even longer than the manufacturers estimated tread life. Tires should also be replaced whenever they show signs of weather wear such as cracks or fissures or sustain any damage such as cords showing, breaking or developing bulges in the sidewall for safety reasons.

How many miles can you drive on a highlander spare tire?

If you have a standard size spare tire (a "road" tire identical to the other 4 tires on the vehicle) it can be treated exactly the same. If you have one with a "compact" spare it is only supposed to be driven far enough to get it replaced with a standard size "road" tire.

The tires air pressure is checked every morning, before operating the vehicle. This standard procedure is part of the daily vehicle inspection. It must be checked for every trip thoroughly, and have an exact checkup for every 200 miles.

When were tires invented?

It is probable that tires were invented soon after wheels because the people who invented wheels soon found out it was a good idea to have tires on them which could be replaced when they wore out.Well before pneumatic tires were invented, tires made of wood or iron were fitted to stone, wooden or metal wheels to make them last longer. If you don't have a separate tire, the whole wheel has to be replaced when its outside edges get chipped and worn away.If this question is asking about pneumatic tires then search for questions and answers about pneumatic tires, not just "tires".

Has there ever been a recall on goodyear assurance P22560R18 tires?

No recall but there should be. A new model of this tire replaced the old but I'm stuck with a set of Goodyear Assurance 60,000 mile tires and have only 20,000 miles on them and the 2 back tires are already worn out.

What are factory tires for 2007 Honda CR-V?

The factory tires delivered on our 2007 CR-V were Continental 4X4 Contact. My advice would be to not accept a new car with these tires. They are truly junk, as far as tire wear goes. Our front tires have been replaced twice at around 9,000 miles. When the first ones wore out, I made the mistake of replacing then with the same tire so they would match the rear tires. Even with rotation, they wore out in about the same amount of miles. Now, at 16,000 miles, we have consumed six tires.
