the only code for emissions is gonna be the O2 sensor or egr (exaust gas recirculation) valve. if u havent solved the problem as to why the light is on to begin with, it will just come back on. but if you fixed it and got the code off the right way u dont have to wait at all. autozone does free engine light checks for free on 96+ cars.
