I have a 1992 E150 club wagon with 285k that gets 16 on the open road crusing at 65-70.
My friend do you actually think anyone can answer this question. What make, model, engine, Ford?
2.8 mpg if your luckey
24 hwy and 19.5 city
I get about 28 hwy, 24-25 city/hwy combined.
If you are consistently getting 10 mpg, your doing well.
A typical Ford station wagon from the 1970s and 1980s with high mileage will get somewhere in the range fo 12 to 15 miles per gallon providing that it is in good running condition and working order. Ford station wagons such as the Taurus SHO of the 1990s and 2000s will get 15 to 20 miles per gallon depending on location as driving on city streets usually results in lower fuel economy.
3600 rpm is the power of the Plymouth custom wagon automatic 1958 engine and its maximum speed is 115 miles per hour.
Specs says 18 miles per gallon in the city and 24 miles per gallon on the highway. My Subaru Outback 2003 VDC makes 18.5 miles per gallon in suburban driving, which involves some highway divining but much more 'city' type driving with many stops and much lower speeds (meaning less then optimal speed for fuel efficiency).
The Volkswagon Jetta Wagon is known to get about 24 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. However the combined mpg is 31.2437 and the fuel type used is Premium Gasoline.
