APAP is the same ingredient as in Tylenol, and it is very toxic to the liver in overdose. The maximum dose of APAP per day is 4000mg. Therefore, the pill with less APAP is better if one is taking many of these pills for pain relief.

Therefore, it is completely worthless to try and use it in any way other than orally. Usually, the more Hydrocodone in a pill (7.5mg, 10mg), the more acetaminophen is present. This is due to the abuse potential of hydrocodone as an opiate analgesic. The presence of Tylenol severely limits how many pills someone can ingest to acheive a "high". The daily MAXIMUM amount of Tylenol that the body can handle is 4000 mg, which is still a huge amount. If taken too often or in doses exceeding 4000 mg, acetaminophen can (and usually will) cause severe liver toxicity. There are no current Hydrocodone pills in the USA that are purely Hydrocodone. Vicodin is the brand name for hydrocodone mixed with Tylenol, Vicoprofen is the brand name for hydrocodone mixed with ibuprofen. There are many generic versions of each of the latter drugs. Hydrocodone APAP is generic Vicodin. Vicodin comes in three strengths, Vicodin - 5mg Hydrocodone/500mg Acetaminophen Vicodin ES - 7.5mg Hydrocodone/750mg Acetaminophen Vicodin HP - 10mg Hydrocodone/ 625mg Acetaminophen.

It just depends on the tolerance u have for Lortabs. I've been taking lortab 10 for years so I wouldn't even feel a 5 but when I first started taking Lortab/hydrocodone then a 5 would have made me feel pretty darn good. Lol
