Mitochondria, that's what I got for my review packet for Science at least...
Mitochondria: a spherical or rod-shaped organelle found within the cytoplasm of eukaryotic cells. It acts as the ~powerhouse of the cell~Â as it generates most of the cell's supply of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) through the process of cellular respiration.
The Mitochondria is the main energy producing organelle. it sends ATP to the other organelles
I must assume you are talking about the mitochondria.
If there are many mitochondria in a cell, we can clarify that this cell's function would be to support, or be involved in the process of respiration.. I think!

Mitochondria are required to regenerate rhodopsin (the pigment that absorbs photons in rod cell membranes) and also for the active transport of ions needed for action potentials to be generated and hence an impulse to occur
You would expect to find many mitochondria in a muscle cell. This is because the mitochondria makes the energy fo a cell, and muscle cells need alot of energy to do their job. The more energy a cell needs to do its job, the more mitochondria it has.
Mitochondria or mitochondrion
