Fillys can show heat as early as 6 months. That being said immature fillys will
generally cycle sporadically or produce what is called a persistent follicle that
limits their ability to get in foal even if bred. Two year old fillys will often cycle
regularly.
Mares can breed from age 2 years and older.
A mare will stay in foal (pregnant) for roughly a 11 month period, (about 340 days or so.) Then the mare will foal, this typically only takes a couple of hours at the most.

The maximum time it should take a mare to foal once she's began major contractions is 30 minutes. Any longer and the foal could be in serious trouble. Usually it should only take 10 minutes for the mare to foal on her own.
=no you can not take a mare away from its foal straight after its birth=
about eleven months, or about 340 days (normal average range 320-370 days)
You should never wean a foal below four months of age with six months being preferable. You can also let the mare naturally wean the foal herself, which she will do either once she is pregnant again or her milk finally dries up.
It normally takes 11 months for a mare before she gives birth, but occasionally it will be 10 or 12 months.
The gestation period of a zebra is anywhere from 360 to 390 days. The mare then nurses her foal for up to 12 months.
A mare takes the foal and keeps it safe until its 8 months old then it can take care of its self. the mare makes sure no horse will hurt it and the mare feeds it:)i hope i could help!!
The gestation period of a mare is around 10 to 11 months.
A foal gets his immunity from the first milk from the mare called colostrum. As long as the mare is healthy and current on her vaccinations the foal is good to go for about six months. At this point it is good to consult your vet to see what he recommends but this is about the time (give or take) to start his life-long series of vaccinations.
WEANING. You simply take the mother into one pasture- holding the foal back- and shut the foal inside another. Or you do the same with stalls. Take the mare as far away as possible.
The average mare will be pregnant for 340 days, or about 11 to 12 months. But the average foaling time, or labor time, is usually no more than 30 minutes.
If she is healthy and well kept, a mare can have a foal every year from age around 3. I personally know one mare who had a foal every year for 21 years, an another who had her last foal at age 33.
