The Mossberg and Sons model 26B was made from 1938-1941.The value is between 35-100 dollars, depending on overall condition.
50-200 USD
Couple of problems- Spelling is Mossberg. Prior to the 1968 Gun Control Act, Mossberg .22s did not have a serial number, except for a few made for the US Military. The serial numbers I HAVE seen did not include letters. Is it possible that you have the Model number- since there WAS a Model 51M? Mossberg is still in business, and may be contacted through their customer service website. At the bottom of this page is a link to an excellent blog on Mossberg .22s that may help give you a range of dates for a particular model. PS- I collect older Mossberg 22s- they are GREAT shooting rifles.
That will depend on the condition. That rifle was only made in 1933-1935, and is fairly scarce. There ARE collectors of Mossberg 22s hat would be interested in it. Value may range from $100 to $250 for an excellent specimen.
Your rifle was made for Wards by Mossberg, and is their Model 26B/ 26C. They were made between 1938-1941.
Depending on condition and completeness, anywhere from $100-$250. There IS collector interest in the older Mossberg 22s, and they are extremely accurate rifles.
Depends on the condition and completeness of the rifle. There is a mild collector's interest in older Mossberg 22s, but missing sights or sling swivels will drop values. Only made from 1936-1938, value would range from $100-$200.
Your Western Field model 46A was made for Montgomery Wards(Western Field) by the firm Mossberg and sons. The Mossberg model 42 and your rifle are one and the same. These rifles were made by Mossberg from 1935-1937.They have a 7 shot magazine,24in.barrel.I hope you find this information of interest.
Cross reference to a Mossberg Model 46B. The Mossbergs were great target rifles. For some more info on Mossberg 22s, Google search for "Epix Mossberg Models".
