17 city / 26 highway ( U.S. gallon ) according to fuel economy . gov
14 city
17 mpg city, and 25 mpg highway.
The EPA mileage estimate for the 2001 Ford Mustang is 17 mpg in the city, 26 mpg on the highway.
The 2011 Ford Mustang gets the best fuel economy in its class. The 3.7L Ti-VCT V6 has an EPA rating of 22 mpg city / 31 mpg highway. To get that good of fuel economy with a Mustang you must have the 6-speed manual transmission too. The 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 has an EPA rating of 20 mpg city / 26 mpg highway. That would also have to be a 6-speed manual.
I have a 1996 mustang gt 4.6 manual transmission mostly stock and i get about 16-18 mpg
I get about 16 MPG on mine but I do a lot of city driving.
If your 2001 VW Jetta is an 4-cylinder automatic, you will get 22 combined mpg. If your jetta is a 4-cylinder manual, you'll get better mpg, that being 24 combined.
