On average, cells are in interphase for about 20 hours, then mitosis/cytokinesis. Because the body has so many different cells with different functions, it's hard to estimate exactly how many are in interphase at any given moment. Since cells on average is under interphase for about 20 hours, it'll be best to say that most of the cells are in interphase.

During interphase, the chromosomes of a cell are copied (specifically during the S phase of interphase), but no cell division takes place, so there are no new cells produced during interphase.

There is only one cell in in the interphase part of the growth cycle. The cell is making parts for the next phase of cell division. If you look at a group of cells or a body with cells, most are in interphase.

No cells are formed at this time. If it is an active cell, it cell spends most of its' time at this stage. It is usully stockpiling supplies for the next divison.

In the cell cycle of cancer cells interphase is still the longest phase. However, interphase is shorter in cancer cells than in normal cells.

Why was if difficult to find interphase cells in the whitefish blastula slide?

This is because the cells divide so rapidly that Interphase is such a short period of time; thus, few cells are in Interphase.Read more: Why_was_if_difficult_to_find_interphase_cells_in_the_whitefish_blastula_slide
