One, Hawaii.
Forty-nine of the fifty US states are located on the North American continent.
Only one state is not located in North America: Hawaii. It's located in Oceania.
One, Hawaii.
All, but 1 state is on on the North American continent: Hawaii. Alaska is on the very northern part of the North American continent.
Forty nine of the fifty US states are on the North American continent. Hawaii is the exception. Geographically, Hawaii doesn't belong to any continent, but it does belong to North America in a political sense.
No. It is a continent.
North America has fifty states. To be more specific, the United States of America, is the country that has fifty states. North America is the continent. (The three biggest countries in North America are Canada, U.S.A, and Mexico. There are many small islands, and other small countries when getting closer to South America.)

49, all but Hawaii
Assuming you mean the United States, there are fifty, most are located on the mainland part of the continent of North America. Alaska is separated from most of the USA by Canada, but it is also on the North American Continent. Hawaii is an island and not technically on this continent per se, but it is a state just the same. We also have a few places called "territories" which belong to the USA, but are not legally states... kind of like the Falkland Islands belong to England, but are not a part of it. Any world map will show you the exact location of each state.
The fifty stars on the United States of America's flag stands for the fifty states in America.
