I would like to know how many onions equal 1 pound?
On average, one medium onion is the equivalent of 1 cup of chopped onions. This will save you from dirtying a measuring cup.
IDK, but about 1 1/2 medium white onions are 1 lbs.
IF YOU DO NOT KNOW DO NOT POST "I DON'T KNOW"
It is totally useless.
Theoretically 2 cups. Really , probably about 1.75 cups.
Have you noticed onions come in many sizes. I just checked my veg cupboard and I have onions that weigh as little as 1 ounce right up to a Walla Walla that is 14 ounces.
One rather small onion.
That is approximately 1/2 cup
1 cup?
Small onion = 4 ounces by weight or about ½ cup chopped Medium onion = 8 ounces, or about 1 cup chopped Large onion = 12 ounces, or about 1½ cups chopped Jumbo onion = 16 ounces, or about 2 cups chopped
1 small equals 1/4 cup chopped 1 medium equals 1/2 cup chopped 1 large equals 1 cup chopped Hope this helps! Found this answer at http://home.answerbox.net/garden-search-onion%0A%0A1-396545368.htm
6 ounces of onion would be equal to 3/4 of a cup. This is because a cup is equal to 8 ounces.
