There were two successful multi-crew ( as opposed to solo one-man flights) By Zeppelins. (German flag, though one may have been delivered to the US the Zr-3 Los Angeles.) The successful though- bog-landed Vickers Vimy flown by Alcock and Brown in l9l9 was another pioneer trans-atlantic flight. There was the USN NC-4 Task force involving four planes one of which completed the journeyl. Finally the various missing in action probes such as thoise of Nungesser and Fonck (Both French WWl aces) and the enigmatic San Rafael expedition deserve mention as (Die in the attempt) honorable failures.
