Can people protest their opinion in Saudi Arabia?

Answer 1No. There is no freedom of assembly or government petition in Saudi Arabia. Protesters have been violently attacked in the past and tens of thousands of protesters have been imprisoned without trial, both of these actions have seen an uptick in during last three years of upheaval in Saudi Arabia. Please see the Related Link which discusses how Saudis lack the right to freely protest. Answer 2Sure they can. However, this should be peacefully and not with violence. Not all the news and photos and videos against Saudi Arabia should be taken as a truth especially that Qatar is waging campaign and falsifying facts against the Saudis the same way they are falsifying facts against Egypt and other Arab countries. I noticed myself many falsified news, photos, and videos published by Qatar media against Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Libya, and other Arab countries. They are strongly backing Muslim Brotherhood that are categorized in Egypt as terrorists.

What country has the largest oil reserves in the world?

Sometimes a very simple question does not result in a simple answer. I could say the country is either Saudi Arabia or Venezuela, depending on whose numbers you trust the most. It is cited in many references that Saudi Arabia has the highest proved reserves, totalling 267 billion barrels. See links. However recently, Venezuela claims to have the most proven reserves, with 297 billion barrels. See second link and last link. Note that million and billion barrels is abbreviated MMbbls and Gbbls. Both Saudi Arabia and Venezuela have extensive oil deposits and for many years, Saudi Arabia claimed the most oil, with Venezuela more than 100 billion barrels less than Saudi Arabia. As shown on the related link, Venezuela has been raising its estimate of reserves for the past 5 years, and some of this oil may not be as "proven" as in the case of Saudi Arabia. To meet the proven category, it is necessary to show the oil can be commercially developed under existing technologies and oil prices. Also, the oil recovery factor should be conservatively estimated. Venezuela has extensive heavy oil deposits, and estimation of a conservative recovery factor may be subjective, allowing for overestimation of recovery. Their rapid increase in reserves has added skepticism of their claim to have the largest proven reserves in the world. Note the official OPEC estimate of reserves, in 2008 was 99.4 billion barrels. (see first link) Saudi Arabia has not revised their estimates in many years, and according to Wikipedia, some experts suspect that their estimate may also be overestimated.

Is the world past peak oil?

The largest oil reserve which constitutes about 1/3 of the worlds oil in Saudi Arabia peaks in 2008. It is very difficult to quantify if it has or hasn't on a global scale, as many nations have passed peak oil, many haven't, and a few aren't saying how much they have. Add to that there is chance for future prospecting (although discoveries have slumped heavily)

Which animal is Saudi Arabia famous for?

Saudi Arabia is famous for the extensive featuring of the camel in the life and culture of the people. The camel is ideally suited to the desert conditions which have very sparse grazing. Although in the past it was predominantly a beast of burden, it is farmed extensively today to provide both meat and milk. The meat of the camel is low in fat and cholesterol; the milk is extremely rich and not to be recommended for drinking by people whose stomachs are not used to it. Amazingly high prices are paid for top breeding camels. In days gone by the Oryx was found but few are extant today.

How does oil affect the economies in Israel Saudi Arabia and Iran?

Israel: As Israel has no oil fields, a lot of Israeli foreign policy (after trying to settle the Arab problems) is to find a reputable source of energy. This energy policy led to a strong alliance with Iran from 1948-1979 during which Israel purchased numerous millions of barrels of Iranian oil. Under Israeli occupation in from 1967-1982 the Sinai Peninsula was host to numerous Israeli-started operations to drill oil from the area. The Peace Treaty between Egypt and Israel requires Egypt to sell oil to Israel at a low rate and to keep it flowing almost continuously. In the recent tumult in Egypt, the Egyptian government has not been careful about adhering to these regulations. Israel is now experimenting with deep-sea oil drilling in the Mediterranean close to Lebanon in the hopes of finding new petroleum to keep its economy functioning.Saudi Arabia: Oil is the only reason Saudi Arabia has an economy at all. The Saudi family, although relatively wealthy when they conquered Hejaz, had little wealth as compared to contemporaneous European countries. The discovery of nearly inexhaustible oil wealth in Saudi Arabia allowed the Saudi Monarchy to consolidate power and engage in a virtuous cycle of bringing new technologies to Saudi Arabia to acquire more oil to increase the government to bring new technologies into the county and so forth. Since the oil wealth funds most of Saudi Arabia's government, little respect is paid to the Saudi citizens since the government need not depend on them for its survival. This has made Saudi Arabia a very authoritarian state.Iran: Unlike Saudi Arabia, Iran has an economy outside of oil production, however, the current regime in Iran is attempting to squash all political dissent and is using the oil money it has to undergird its policies and pay its soldiers. It is also destroying nascent industry in the country which could compete with these revenues. In the past Iranian oil was one of the major reasons why the British urged America to lead a coup d'état against President Mossadegh in 1953 (which restored the Anglophilic Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi to power) and was one of the main reasons that Iraq attempted to reclaim the Shatt Al-Arab and Iranian Khuzestan (an area with significant oil fields) in the Iran-Iraq War of 1980-1988.
