Loyalty is a variable. Almost everyone will bail on a friend at some point. It depends on the circumstance, what the person is risking or what it is costing them. The people in our lives who we never have to question if they will be there for us or their motives, who we can always count on are very few. Maybe 5 in a lifetime if you are lucky. You may have many friends, but how many of them can you call at 3 in the morning to bail you out of jail for being drunk, who will do it, get you home,in bed and never give you any grief about it. There are lots of ways to qualify a friendship and the depth of it. That's just one example.
