I have read several books on Verdi and have recently returned from a tour of his birthplace at Roncole Verdi, Busseto and Villa Verdi at Sant' Agata.
The number of people attending his funeral/lining the streets of Milan seems to vary from 28,000 to an astonishing 300,000. If anyone can narrow this down, I would be extremely grateful, as I'm shortly giving a Presentation on his life and music.
