Optimistically, with current technology, this planet can support between three and four billion people, though not at a particularly high standard of living. Realistically it could support 0.5 to 1 billion quite well. If we could develop cost effective hydrogen fusion and high temperature superconductors, the planet could likely sustain a larger population than that.
It's worth noting that the current population is estimated to be a bit over seven billion.

A most interesting question and we would need to define how we are to be supported. If we are talking the ability to exist and have a space to survive on the number may be as high as 100 billion.
If we are worrying about the ability to obtain food, the number may be closer to 10 billion. This would leave us about 0.9 hectares of productive land available. (This does not take into account the probability of more soil degradation.)
All of these numbers though ignored human rights, biodiversity, and aesthetic appreciations of natural beauty, considering humans only as mindless animals consuming food. Let's put these variables back into the equation and ask how many the Earth can support at various levels of human affluence.
To kind of give you a feel for why these numbers vary so much let's look at how lifestyle varies that number:
1. Everyone at the current U.S. standard of living and with all the health, nutrition, personal dignity and freedom that most Americans currently enjoy the number is about 2 billion.
2. Everyone at the same affluence level as in 1, but with few restrictions on commerce, pollution, land use, personal behavior (within current law), etc. Basically a libertarian, laissez faire economy, with only limited environmental restrictions. The number drops to about a half billion
3. Everyone in the world at Mexico's current prosperity level we could have that number increase to 20 billion
4. Everyone in the world at the current "prosperity" level of Northwest Africa we would be able to support 60 billion.
As population increases, we will need to restrict more freedom and do with less. What you expect for a lifestyle for yourself and others is the central issue.
The biggest ecosystem on earth is the Amazon rainforest.
There is 1 doctor per 5,000 people on earth. It must be had for a ddoctor..... oh well
Life is supported on earth and not the sun or moon because, earth is the only planet with oxygen and the gasses people need to breathe. There is also water, light, and the earth is always a comfortable temperature. The moon and the sun are either to hot or to coldand don't have oxygen to breathe.
"Sky people" was the Na'vi name for the people from Earth.
None. The only object other than Earth on which people have set foot is the moon. It would be impossible to walk on Jupiter as it does not have a solid surface.
Yes there can. The earth only has so many resources, if we have a population greater than those resources can support there are too many people.
Yes. The earths resources can only support a finite number of people. There is already significant fraction of the populace starving.
It is estimated that the Earth can support a maximum of around 10 billion people if resources and land use are managed efficiently. Currently, the global population is around 7.9 billion.
yes it warms the people on earth and also the plants can do photosynthesis for food.
Too many people to count every one should support Liverpool
Jupiter is a gas giant planet and has essentially no solid surface so no people could live on Jupiter. If Jupiter were magically a solid planet with earth's gravity, climate and resources but the size of the real planet Jupiter, it cold probably support 100 times as many people as the Earth currently does.
People of the Earth has 587 pages.
There are many organisations that support, or claim to support, autism and Autistic people. It'd be impossible to determine how many there are globally. Do bare in mind that many organisations actually work against Autistic people, only support those run by Autistic people themselves.
yes that is why it is warm enough to support life on earth. Also that is why people get sun burned.
There is a planet that can support life, it is just that the earth still has many years to come before we go to another planet
There are 6 billion people on Earth in 1999.
6 billion people live on Earth.
