Measuring statistics for the entirety of the UK can be difficult as the constituent countries have their own governing bodies and operations - there is no central body that compiles UK wide data.
In Great Britain, the number of crash related deaths has fallen dramatically over the last ten or so years. In 2003, there were 3508 deaths from road accidents. In 2013, there were only 1713.
Of those 1713; 785 were car occupants, 331 were motorcyclists, 109 were cyclists and 398 were pedestrians.
In Northern Ireland there were 43 road fatalities in 2013.
