Many people don't wear seat belts because they think it is a personal choice. Seat belts do protect lives, and wearing one can save you hundreds of dollars.
the seat belt its self could possibly injure the person wearing it
What formation are they in? How far apart are they? What are they wearing? Are they in vehicles or out in the open?
In 2006, 42,642 people were killed in car accidents. The NHTSA was able to gather seat belt data on 30,251 of the 42,642 car occupants that died in car crashes. Nearly 56 percent, or 16836 people, of the 30,251 with available restraint information were not wearing seat belts at the time of the fatal auto accident. In conclusion, there are about 1403 people died every month due to not wearing a set belt in 2006.
Not many things can be done if you son wears garter belts. The parents could ask their son why he is wearing the garter belts and they can chose to accept his decision.
Why ask, just wear the stupid thing! ***** None, they died from trauma as a result of motor vehicle accidents.
According to statistics about 63% of people killed in accidents are not wearing seatbelts.
I have seen many people die from not wearing their seatbelts. I do not know the percentage though, but people do die from not wearing their seatbelts. I was driving home one night, and I witnissed a double collision car accident. Someone flew out of their window while the car was flipping and hit the highway. There were 3 other people in the same car as the man who flew out. He was the only one who wasn't wearing his seatbelt. The other 3 people climbed out of the car with minor injuries. The one who wasn't wearing his seatbelt died later that night. So to answer your question, yes. People die from not wearing their seatbelts almost everyday.
I don't know the numbers but I can say: TOO MANY, even if it's one The number of highway deaths fell to 32,885 in 2010. It's the lowest number since 1949.
