Depends how you define "successfully". i.e if you mean "have only had two, and are healthy afterwards, requiring no further liver transplants", as opposed to "have had at least two" (which would include people who may have been quite healthy after the second, but eventually needed a third etc...)

It is not uncommon for individuals to undergo a second liver transplant if needed due to organ rejection or other issues. The success rate of a second liver transplant is generally lower compared to the first transplant due to factors such as a higher risk of complications and reduced overall health of the patient. Each case is unique and the outcome can vary depending on the individual circumstances.

If you have elevated levels of AST and ALT from alchol if you reduce drinking can the levels be reduced?

Yes, reducing alcohol consumption can help lower elevated levels of AST (aspartate aminotransferase) and ALT (alanine aminotransferase). These liver enzymes are released into the bloodstream when the liver is damaged, commonly due to excessive alcohol intake. By reducing alcohol consumption, the liver has a chance to recover and the levels of AST and ALT can decrease.

The gallbladder is not essential - you can live without it quite easily (like your appendix). So it is never transplanted since it is not necessary. And when having a liver transplant, the gallbladder (both the original and the transplanted) are removed. Nobody with a liver transplant has a gall-bladder.
