There were 146 men aboard the Whydah Galley when it wrecked on Cape Cod in 1717 - and only two of them survived. Seven men also survived from the Marianne, which was one of the other ships in Sam Bellamy's pirate fleet that also wrecked that night filled with bottles of Mediera wine. All nine of those survivors were captured and brought to trial in Boston.
Two were set free (they had been forced by the pirates to work on the ship),
one was sold into slavery whose name was John Julian,
and six were hanged (yes, "hanged" is the proper word - not hung).
