I usually buy a pound a person. I sometimes end up with a few left over but this has always been a general rule here in Idaho. It depends on the the size of potato you get. The bigger the potatoes are the more pounds you need to buy. A large baker will usually be almost a pound each so you will need to buy more. If you are getting the smaller potatoes then the pound per person will work. Good Luck!!
