Park the car on a level surface. Drain the oil and install a new filter. Pour in 4 quarts of the correct weight oil. Start the engine and let run for 2 minutes. Shut down and wait 30 minutes. Check the oil level on the dipstick and add enough oil to reach the full mark. You now know the capacity.
