Ask the question differently! Are you talking about Engine oil or do you really mean Gear oil such as in the rear axle?

That will vary on the gear your are in and what the rear axle gear ratio is.
The rear end on a Ranger takes about 2.5 quarts. If you're asking for the manual transmission, use automatic transmission fluid (ATF), it takes 2.75 quarts.
A 393 gear rear end would be quicker than a 300 gear rear end but the 300 gear rear end would be faster in the long run.
