4.3 L V6 takes 5 quarts of oil (5W-30), give it 5 quarts then start the truck let it run for a few minutes and check the engine oil dipstick with the engine off....
Your dipstick should never actually read "full" though. technically the 4.3L tells you it is 4.5 quarts (calculate the 4.3L and you get 4.5 quarts)
