The oil used for a 4 cylinder and a 6 cylinder and an 8 cylinder are all different. Add 4.5 quarts for an 8 then check when warm. Put 3.5 for a 6 and check when warm. Add 3.5 to a 4 and check when warm. Add to the full line after checking when warm. You can do just as much damage to an engine overfilling the oil as you can without enough.

There are two possibilities. One engine take s4 quarts, the second takes 6 quarts. Add 4 quarts, and check the dipstick, adding more if needed.
