Park the vehicle on a level surface. Drain the oil and change the filter. Add 5 quarts of oil, start the engine, and run for 1 minute. Shut off and wait 30 minutes. Check the oil level and add as necessary to reach the full mark on the dipstick. You now know the capacity.
