How many rapists are women?

That is unknown, it is difficult to get records of this. There are probably many more than what is reported though as a man is less likely to report this crime due to looking weak. The fact is that it does happen more often than thought and it is not weak to report it to the police so I would encourage any person, male or female in this situation to go to the nearest police station immediately and report it. You may be able to save somebody else going through it.

According to the US Centers for Disease Control, 99% of the rapists that targeted women were male. 80% of the rapists that targeted men were male. (But since incidence of rape with a male victim is only 10% that of rape against female victims, that suggests that the overall gender balance of rapists is approximately 97% male, 3% female, in the USA.)

As for men under-reporting rape against them, it is a long-established fact that women under-report rapes substantially as well, estimates in the US are that 2/3 of all rapes against women are unreported. (Mostly because the woman fears retaliation and ostracization if she reports)
