However if you consider a 3-way result as a draw (and thus just one result), and in rock-paper-scissors, coming second isn't a result the options are:

2. Player 1 wins
3. Player 2 wins
4. Player 3 wins
5. Players 1&2 draw
6. Players 2&3 draw
7. Players 1&3 draw
Thus you could claim there are just 7 results.
