The main factor is the deterioration of the wire strands caused by the pulley riding on the wire rope. This deterioration can occur more rapidly in salt water environments and can be increased where the lines are under higher tensions. The diameter of the wire rope also has a huge effect because a thicker wire will simply have more "lifespan"... you can wear it out more. Using a plastic wheel in the pulley will help prolong the life of the wire rope. In our commercial zipline installations, we see cable replacement necessary starting around 45,000 rides but typically last much much longer.

If the fuel line is the metal line and bent then it needs to be replaced with an exact replacement to fit properly. If its the rubber line then the line can be bought by the foot at a local auto parts.
