There are many predators that seek sea turtle eggs. A turtle lays approximately 30 eggs at one time. If a predator gets those eggs then there is little chance any will survive. If the nest is untouched and unharmed about 20 to 25 will survive and about 15 actually make it into the ocean. Of those 15 ten get eaten before they grow up and 3 get killed by humans so only 2 usually grow up to reproduce.
Only about 1 out of every 100 will survive until adulthood.
Everything lives to be an adult. Just like people. If they don't live to be one they have probably been eaten and killed as a baby of something tragic like that.
The female sea turtle can lay up to 80-120 eggs. Then it takes about 2-4 months to hatch. They need to lay that many eggs because there is a small chance that any of the 80-120 eggs will survive.
No..They would be eaten, and they must be buried in the sand to hatch..

Survival of the species. Turtle eggs get eaten by birds and other creatures if they can find them. Laying a clutch of many eggs almost guarantees that at least a small number will survive to hatch out.
Anywhere from 10-36 eggs.
a sea turtle can lay 50-160 eggs but they lay 10 per minute.
That would depend on the species of turtle. Sea turtle eggs are approximately that size.
