Daisies are small, herbaceous plants with long, slender stems. They typically have a single white or yellow flower head consisting of many small petals surrounding a bright yellow center called the disc. The leaves of a daisy are usually narrow, elongated, and have smooth or toothed margins.
Respiration takes place at a cellular level. Many stems also have stomata on them allowing transpiration (the same as the leaves), although they have far fewer of them.
Prairies usually have 4 seasons like most other places.

Anthocyanins are the pigments responsible for red colouration in the stems of most herbaceous species, that is, they are the reason that the stms of many plants are red. However, plant stems may also be red because of, or in response to abiotic stressors such as drought, low temperatures, ultraviolet radiation, or high ratios of red:far-red light.

All trees grow up by and from the roots.Specifically, it is by the roots that trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants take in necessary nutrients. Not all plants have to be anchored in soil. Epiphytic orchids whose roots dangle from tree branches high up in the air may be offered as examples of herbaceous plants that can live without soil. But all trees must have roots growing in soil to survive.
