I was found guilty of 'failure to signal a turn" in NY many years ago for not signaling 100 ft before making a turn.
By law you're supposed to turn your blinker on 3 seconds before making a lane change.
You have to put on your blinker 100ft before you turn.
you should do it about 15-30 seconds before you turn
A driver should generally have their blinker on a minimum of 100 feet before a turn. By turning it on long before the actual turn, it allows following drivers to prepare themselves.
About 50 to 60 feet.
You usualy want to turn it on at least about 100 feet unless you want road rage.
Some states require you to use your turn signal 200 feet in advance. Others say that 100 feet is enough.
ok everyone knows its five seconds
Of course because you turned your blinker on yes it is.
Blinker switch defective. This is not always the case. You could have one of many problems. Flasher bad, bad bulb, bad connections.....please check these before you go and replace a blinker switch.
if you sit in the left lane for a long time the blinker will automaticly turn on
In Boise, Idaho, there is no specific law that dictates a 5-second blinker rule for changing lanes. However, it is recommended to signal at least 100 feet before changing lanes as per general traffic laws and safe driving practices.
