This can be determined if one divides it out, and 6000 goes into 100 60 times so there would be 60 centuries in a legion. (all depending on the actual unit type in the legion) a legion made up of only knights would be 60, but with regular foot soldiers the number would be significantly smaller.
There were 800 soldiers in the first cohort of a Roman legion. The remaining nine cohorts had 480 men each.
It depends on what you mean by a Roman troop. A legion ideally had 5,000 men, but most of the time it was undermanned. A legion consisted of 10 cohorts. The first cohort had 800 men and the remaining nine had 480 men. The cohorts were then further divided into centuries of 80 men. These are the ideal figures for manpower. Most of the time the Roman forces were undermanned.
The term "legion" comes from the Romans, and it refers generally to the solders who were Roman citizens. In its usage in the New Testament, it is used merely to express that there were too many to bother counting, as in, "We are called Legion, for we are many." In layman's terms, it is similar to our usage of "bunch."

Based upon a Roman Legion's organization, it could be between 4800 and 5500. Many today would consider a legion to be roughly 6,000.

In Mark 5:9 Legion is a Demon that Christ exorcised. The demon said: "My name is Legion; for we are many." This is a reference to the Roman Legions, as there were many soldiers in them. The Demon represents the fact that we all have many problems within us, and that Christ can help us solve them (alternatively it only means that Demons live in people that are super strong and crazy and that Christ alone can remove them)Legion is 5,000 to 10,000 soldiers in a Roman regiment that's how the demons in the new testament defined themselves to Jesus.

Many historians believe the 4th Macedonica legion was formed by Pompey the Great. It is for certain that at one time it supported Octavian in Spain.
You do not specify what you are referring to. I will assume that you mean how many soldiers. A full strength legion had 5,120 infantrymen and 120 cavalry. However, the legion often were not at full strength. The legions were organised into cohorts (similar to battalions). it had 10 cohorts. Cohorts 2 to 10 had six centuries (the equivalent of a company) of 80 men each. The first cohort was larger and had 5 double size centuries (with 160 men each). This made a total of 59 centuries. It also gave a total of 4,230 men in the standard cohorts and 800 men in the 1st cohort. The entire legion had 5,120 infantrymen. T
