They can compare music of different cultures or study the evolution of music with respect to a certain culture, particularly indigenous cultures. Bela Bartok started his career as an ethnomusicologist studying European folk music, which is where he got the idea for many of his scales and his use of quarter tones.

I can't locate that many movies that feature animated Bats but there are supporting bat characters in Ferngully & Anastasia. Bartok from Anastasia was given his own direct to video film, titled Bartok the Magnificent.There's also Everyone's Hero but that's a baseball bat.

He was filming "Plan 9 From Outer Space" when he died and a stand-in was used to finish the film.
