There have been 44 presidents of the United States. I don't know the number for any other countries in any other part of the Americas. But the presidents never "ruled" alone. There's the legislative and judicial branches as well..

You mean as in ruled by the people? Yes, it is a federal presidential representative republic, just like the United States.
And you will be most welcomed. In many states you dont really have to do anything and your declaration is made depending on what primary you vote in. For other states, contact your local democratic party officials for your declaration.
Each city-state, or polis, had its own government. Some city states were monarchies ruled by kings or tyrants. Others were oligarchies ruled by a few powerful men on councils. The city of Athens invented the government of democracy and was ruled by the people for many years.

While many Americans will vote only by political party many more will pick and choose on their ballots. Many states have what is called "the long ballot." In those states many officials are elected and there are many choices on the ballot. Some people in those states will vote only the party and some people will 'split their ballot' voting for the person and not the party. I live in Texas where we have a long ballot. If I can find a Republican on the ballot who is not an ignoramus I will vote for them.
