You dont need insurance the vehicle you drive needs it. If you own a motorcycle you will need insurance that covers any drivers of that motorcycle
only in some states. but my personal feeling is that nothing is illegal if you dont get caught. ride safe!!
There are obviously risks to horseback riding, but if you learn with a professional, and remember that you are riding an animal (so dont be stupid) it is safe.
