Eleven TV channels are in the VHF spectrum. My count is 12 in the USA (2 -13).
You can if the local TV stations are not to far away, select a VHF/UHF antenna. If the stations are far away, mount the antenna as high as possible. Check with your neighbors that have antennas.
Try a regular off air UHF/VHF antenna which cover channels 2 thru 69. while there are a few VHF stations (channels 2-13) still on the air most are UHF (channels 14-69) and are HDTV. This info applies to stations in the USA.

Digital transmissions are on the TV channels 2 to 60, this is the VHF and the UHF band. Some stations changed frequencies and added new channels.

VHF is the more common for tv channels, you are probably thinking UHF
