In truth, too many. Realistically many people are very good at covering these things up and so any figures can never be entirely accurate as they are often based on hospital admissions and not everyone gets that bad. these statistics are also based on coming forward about self harm and again, this can be very difficult to do.

In the UK it is thought that up to 10% of teens may try to self harm and 90% of those admitted to UK hospitals would have overdosed in some way.
