Bats normally eat during the night, or begin at dusk. Bats are nocturnal and almost always feed during the night. Unless feeding a pup, they will stay out most of the night feeding. They might return to rest a couple of times, to help digest their food, depending on the species, after feeding for prolonged periods, then go back out to feed again. Returning to their roost before the dawn. The females that are raising young, will return to nurse their young pup several times, to every couple of hours, usually depending on the general overallhealth of the mother, the abundance of the food source, and the species.
