Many, many times. They also invaded Alaska.
The bombing and attack at Pearl Harbor was first, but balloon bombs hit parts of the West. They were not very effective.
The invasion of Alaska was much more useful, to us. We built portions of the Alaskan highway to get supplies up to counter this attack.
I think I am right in saying the 'Invasion of Alaska' was limited to 2 of the Aleutian islands & military contact between US & Japan was minimal.
That is very true, and then only with a handful of men in the hopes of making a aircraft base. The impact of that invasion was incredible though as it spurred what is now the Alaskan highway. From a Japanese perspective, it was a waste of time. Thanks for that!
