They are basically swiming around in their toilet. They may seem gutsy but they will eat and eat as much as you give them. This will then contaminate the water and may kill your fish. Goldfish can go 2 weeks without feeding.....so feeding them everyday is way to much, especially if the tank is small. Feed them every other day at the most.
