Hurricanes are called by different names in other parts of the world. These storms are labeled depending on where they occur. When they happen over the North Atlantic Ocean, the Caribbean Sea, the Gulf of Mexico, or the Northeast Pacific Ocean, they are called Hurricanes. Storms that happen over the Northwest Pacific Ocean and west of the International Date Line (i.e.: Philippines) are called typhoons.

Some examples of tropical storms that did not develop into hurricanes include Tropical Storm Barry (2019), Tropical Storm Erin (2019), Tropical Storm Olga (2019), and Tropical Storm Imelda (2019). However, there are many other tropical storms throughout history that did not intensify into hurricanes.
Tropical storms are known by many names, including hurricanes (North America), cyclones (India) and typhoons (Japan and East Asia). They all occur in a band that lies roughly between the tropics of Cancer and Capricorn and despite varying wind speeds are ferocious storms. Some storms can form just outside of the tropics, but in general the distribution (location) of these storms is controlled by the places where sea temperatures rise above 27°C.The highest number of storms does not occur in the Atlantic close to the USA, but in the North Pacific affecting countries such as the Philippines and Japan. This is despite the fact that in the UK we only really get to hear about tropical storms affecting the USA. The most affected area being South East Asia receives an average of 26 storms per year. The least affected area is India where there is an average of 2 tropical storms per year
33 tropical storms and hurricanes have hit Belize.
The most common weather disturbances in the Philippines are tropical cyclones, which are further classified into: (1) tropical depressions with winds up to 38 miles per hour; (2) tropical storms with winds from 39 to 73 miles per hour; and (3) typhoons with winds of at least 74 miles per hour. Additional: Weather Disturbances are disturbances in the weather such as: 1. Typhoons 2. Hurricanes 3. Global Warming 4. Tornadoes 5. Cyclones 6. Storms
That is impossible to know. Predictions are calling for a near-normal to slightly above average typhoon season in 2014 overall, but these predictions have a high degree of uncertainty. Even then it is impossible to predict home many of the storms that do occur will head for the Philippines.
Two, the tropic of Capricorn and the tropic of Cancer.

Not at all. A hurricane is only one type of storm out of many. A hurricane is a tropical cyclone with maximum sustained winds of at least 74 mph. Many storms (such as everyday thunderstorms) are not tropical and do not produce winds nearly that strong. A few storms other than hurricanes are thunderstorms, tropical storms, tornadoes, extratropical lows, derechos, and sandstorms

Recent predictions say there will be 12 tropical storms and 6 of those will turn into hurricanes.
