There is no way to find an accurate number. Many people have had narrow escapes but don't report it to police. Others may not have realized exactly who it was that tried to kill or kidnap them, not knowing they had a close encounter with a killer.

Carol La Ronch, one of the few victims of Ted Bundy that lived to tell the tale. The Zodiac Killer abucted Kathleen Johns and her infant daughter by disabling their vehicle. But these are only two examples and can not give an accurate illistration.

Are there any serial killers in Tampa Florida?

There is at present a suspected serial killer in Florida and possibly Georgia. Details are scetchy due to the need for confidentiality in an open, ongoing investigation. Florida has never been in short supply of serial killers. Some of the most notorious and well-known killers have lived, been apprehended, and on many occations, executed in the 'Sunshine State'. Ted Bundy, Gerald John Scheafer, Danny Rollin, Aileen Wuornos, Henry Lee Lucas and Ottis Toole are just a few.

Did there any serial killers that lived in lucerne valley?

The California police and the Highway patrol were paying attention to that area believing that the Zodiac killer home could be in Lucerne Valley when the Riverside murders were committed. The invenstigation led nowhere and this case is not solved. In my research about serial killers, I had never read one that was from that area or lived in this area.

What does it mean have intercourse with dead bodies?

Necrophilia (necro meaning dead or corpse) is the act of sex with a dead body. It is considered a fetish much as a person is excited by shoes or dressing in particular ways for sexual gratification. There are two basic groups of necrophiles. The first finds bodies in funeral homes and mortuaries. The second is much more dangerous. Some serial killers are necrophiles, they kill their victims and have sex with the dead bodies. Some well-known serial killers that had sex with the bodies are Ted Bundy and The Green River Killer Gary Leon Ridgeway. Many times these killers will return to the bodies long after decomposition has set in.As in the case of serial killer Ed Gein from Plainfield, WI, who began his necrophilia with robbing the local cemetery. Then he began killing. Making himself a suit made of his victim's skin, which he would wear around his remote farmhouse, where he lived a reclusive life after the death of his parents and brother.Needless to say, sex with a dead body is illegal, no matter the circumstances.

How many active serial killers are in PA?

The FBI calculates active serial killers to be close to a thousand in the United States but it is still highly unlikely that you will ever encounter an active serial killer. They go for prostitutes and homeless most of the time. In the related links box below, I posted an article that you should read in case you need it. //The estimate for active serial killers according to FBI statistics is between 25-50 at any given time. And while it is true that prostitutes make easy targets, there are just as many who target other types of victims. Examples of this:Ted Bundy liked pretty, brunette co-eds, Edmund Kemper (with the exception of his own family members) liked young college girls also, Jeffrey Dahmer picked young men with dark complextions, Danny Rolling killed both male and female young adults, John Wayne Gacy killed white young men and boys, Dean Corll chose young men, BTK killed both sexes of different ages but the focus was on young girls and women, Son of Sam David Berkowitz liked white middle-class couples (male/female), Wayne Williams liked black young boys and men (with one or two young girls), Richard Ramirez liked to sneak into the homes of the middle-class killing both sexes, Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka aka Ken and Barbie killers picked teenaged school girls including one of Karla's sisters, Aileen Wuornos picked middle-aged men, the Zodiac (original) killed mostly young couples, and Harold Shipmen, a doctor from Great Britian, killed an estimated 200 elderly patients after they gave Shipman executor status of their newly signed wills. As for the state of Pennsylvania, there are of course unsolved homicides but they are unrelated. That doesn't mean there is not a killer on the loose but many times police don't recognize this type of killer for quite a while. This type of killer can be very crafty in their ability to avoid detection and stay at least a step in ahead of the law.

Why do some of the victims of the Holocaust feel possessive of its study?

because if you were not there, then you can only try to imagine what it was like, even those who lived through the same time period and (for example) escaped the Nazis and lived in safety cannot fully understand the period. The problem is that now, in the present day, for the study of the Holocaust to proceed it is necessary for people who were not victims (or even alive during that time) to continue the work, so as to keep it uo to date and accessable to the twentyfirst century audience.

Is Adelaide in south Australia safe?

Yes of course it is. It is one of the safest places on Earth in my opinion. I have lived here for 12 years and have never had anything bad happen to me or any of my friends and family. Adelaide has a reputation for serial killers but that was many decades ago and most of them were not in Adelaide but in regional regions of South Australia.

Is there a serial killer that targets child molesters?

Yes, there are several serial killers who have children. Keith Jesperson to name one, (more commonly known as "the happy face killer"). In fact one of his daughters was recently on Oprah talking about her father and the book she wrote about him, "Shattered Silence: The Untold Story of a Serial Killer's Daughter" By Melissa G. Moore and M. Bridget Cook. John Wayne Gacy had a son and daughter. Gary Ridgeway, the "Green River Killer" has a son. Dennis Rader, aka "BTK" has a son and a daughter. Herb Baumeister lived with his wife and three children on an estate called "Fox Hollow Farm" outside of Indianapolis. He was never apprehended because he committed suicide when he felt that he would soon be apprehended. After his death, authorities identified the remains of at least 11 bodies on the estate. Baumeister is suspected of the murder of seven other men whose bodies had been found along Interstate 70.
