We do not know for sure, but five women are usually considered definite Ripper victims. Three others are possible, though likelihood varies between them.
there are many possibilitys for his victims but all historians agree on 5: Mary ann Nicolas Annie Chapman Elizibeth Stride Catherine Eddowes Mary Jane Kelly
no one knows who jack the ripper is let alone how many sisters he had
Jack the ripper was the first serial killer to reach the media. The world has eyes on him. It was a scandal about the condition the police was at that time. There were no false starts in this case. There was nothing to go on but the remains of the victims. Even today it takes quite some time to catch a murderer on the run, but in the case of Jack the Ripper, there were many aspects police today would not come across.
at least 2 ..
2 were doctors
Jack The Ripper is the name for an unidentified killer active in 1880's London. There are many myths related to this most famous serial killer so just the facts are needed. He was never caught. His victims were homeless, alcoholic prostitutes that worked and lived in London's east end district called Whitechapel. All of his victims were killed with a knife, throats cut, and then mutilations and some organ removal.* The number of victims is still unknown but it is estimated that the number is at least 12 to 13 and possibly more. There is no proof whatsoever that the Ripper was a man of medicine. He did not disappear after the murder of Mary Kelly. The Ripper's crimes were sexually motivated but there was no evidence of actual rapes of any of the victims. The most important aspect of the Ripper is there are so many untruths that over the years are taken as fact. After such a long time the theories magically become truths. It's essential that we deal in only facts. These were horrible crimes committed against women that had no chance at all. There is nothing romantic about the Ripper case. He was no different than John Wayne Gacy or Gary Leon Ridgeway. These are the worst kind of men that believe themselves to be above the law. *Victim Elizabeth Stride was the exception as she was not mutilated like the others. The Ripper was nearly caught when during Stride's murder he was interrupted, thus had time to only cut her throat before making a hasty retreat.
Whether Jack The Ripper was a Mason, we won't know until he is identified. But the murders themselves had nothing to do with anything Masonic. The man behind the Ripper was a sexual predator whose brain combined sex, violence and power. Some men like blondes, the Ripper was excited by violent sex and domination of his victims. There are enough theories to fill books, movies and websites many times over. Many have speculated about the Masonic conspiracies for over a century. In fact they have become synonamous with this case, not through fact or evidence but through ignorance of crime and criminal behaviour.
It could have been anyone but most historians think that it was Mary Jane Kelly. This is just one of many misconceptions that get passed on through books and the media. Scotland Yard knew Mary Kelly was not the last victim just as the felt strongly that Mary Jane Nickols was not the first. According to Patricia Cornwell's best seller 'Jack the Ripper Case Closed' the Ripper went on killing right into the early 20th century. After Kelly the papers stopped printing much about the notorious killer. Things cooled down and it appeared that the Ripper was gone.
If you believe that Mary Kelly was the last victm then the answer is November 9, 1888. Most experts, incuding Scotland Yard, believe that the killing went on for years with many more victims than the original five.
I posted the information in the related links box below.
For those who have seriously studied the crimes of JTR it is obvious that Frances Coles was also a victim of this famous killer. Coles worked as a prostitute and was found murdered on February 13, 1891, in Swallows Garden, Whitechapel. Although Coles did not suffer the horrible mutilations that most other Ripper victims did, the crimes are too similar to dismiss. Her murder is reminiscent of Elizabeth Stride's on September 30, 1888. Stride was the first in the 'double event', so called because the Ripper struck twice, Catherine Eddows was killed less than an hour after Stride, and had no time for the telling mutilations that other victims suffered. Many serial killers will pick victims that may resemble each other. Coles was very similar in physical appearence to the other victims, she worked as a prostitute in the Whitechapel district and unfortunately for her, somehow on that February night she crossed paths with Jack The Ripper.
