Actually, it's the opposite - how many quarters in a semester?

Usually, a university splits its years up either into two semesters, or into four quarters. So, more or less, it'd be two quarters as the equivalent of one semester.

But schools do have rules on how they convert things like quarters into semester equivalents, so if you're thinking about transferring universities, and are looking at how your credits will transfer, contact the new university directly.

In the United States, the number of days in a school year vary by state. Certain states, including Alaska, Arizona, and Delaware, among others, have no minimum number of teaching days required. Typically, states with minimum requirements have about 175-180 teaching days. Some of those states include California (175), Alabama (180), Connecticut (180), and Indiana (180).
