Facts about Thomas Hooker?
Thomas Hooker is a minister and he was born on July 5, 1586. Hooker disliked some of the rules that the Puritans had made. He wanted to begin a brand new community where all men have a right to vote! They don't even have to be a church member! In 1636 Thomas Hooker brought 100 colonists west to a place called " Connecticut's Long Tidal River.'' Thomas had exactly only two wives. His first wife is unknown, but his second wife is named Susanna Hooker.
How much is retail tax in Connecticut?
Currently (2012) the Connecticut sales tax is now6.35%.
However, with the current economic climate broad changes are possible:
Currently prescription and non-prescription medicine, and non-prepared foods are exempt from sales tax. Previous exemptions for newspapers and clothing have been repealed.
Additional taxes are levied on sale of specific goods and services (e.g. tobacco, alcohol, gasoline, movie tickets, tanning salon visits) and are not referred to as 'sales tax' but rather as 'gas tax', 'tanning tax', etc. These hefty 'sin taxes' serve two purposes-- they raise large amounts of cash for the state, and simultaneously discourage use of unhealthy/immoral/unnecessary products. There has been much discussion this year of trying to limit rising gas prices by capping the gas tax at a maximum of X-cents-per-gallon, mathematically analogous to collecting for Social Security only up to a certain income level.
How do refer to someone from Connecticut?
The correct form is, according to R.M. Theis's Standard Lexicon of Titlology (1957, 2nd Edn., Oxon), for a man a "Connection" or, for a female, a "Connect". My own preference is to refer to either male or female as a "Connection" and to refer to both males and females as "Connections". It would appear that Theis accepted "Connections" as being the term for a group of either males or females from the area of Connecticut.
An indignant addendum:
I've lived in Connecticut for 40 years and never heard of this. And except for this exact answer being repeated on other sites, there is almost no mention when googling this reference. Seven hits in all of Google. Even if the above answer is not plagiarism, the answer is not at all a generally accepted one.

Why was Connecticut founded?
It was spawned from the Massachusetts colony. There were two factors: dissension, and expansion. They were fighting among themselves, and they needed more room. As early as 1633, Puritans and Pilgrims migrated into the Connecticut River Valley, drawn by the vast forests. In 1636, the Puritan minister Thomas Hooker moved three congregations to this valley, establishing the towns of Hartford, Wethersfield and Windsor. The Connecticut charter was more democratic in form, allowing people to vote without church membership. This was one of the first instances of separation of church and state.

Average snowfall is about 25 - 30 inches on the coast and 40-50 well inland and in the hills.
Why is the Connecticut school of broadcasting not a credited school?
CSB is not accredited because of a few reasons, namely the amount of time that would take to complete the course (CSB's philosophy is that gaining entry level employment in a related insudtry does not require 2-4 years of training), and the unrelated basic courses (for example, mathematics) that might be required by some states. CSB, however, is fully licensed and governed by the educational boards of each state in which it operates.
